Media Studies , something needed for better video production

Guardian has included a take on "Media Studies" as taught in schools.
It seems to me that web media are well accepted by people aged up to about when proper exams appear. The exam is still very much based on text and then gets worse or better or whatever to call the demands of a journal article or book. Video production is not in it at all.
Here in Exeter I think the students do well in TV events but based on the student guild resources. Film studies is part of eng lit as far as I know.
If there is still a campus in the age of the MOOC, will it have some studio resource and some training?
