Tweet Your Thesis

I visited Exeter campus yesteday and will come back to EduExe later. Some of the talks will be availabe as podcasts so I will link then.

I also saw posters for recent thesis projects. There is a #TweetYourThesis tag for Twitter . Four have interesting links that turned up. Pankhuri Singh explores modern taks on Shakespeare. She follows @CEMSexeter where I found an interview on Radio Somerset - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0fjzp1m . I am interested in Shakespeare versions as I will be looking at the Gutenberg Parenthesis during the drama show on Phonic FM over the next few weeks. More later.  Search on blended learning found this but I am no sure it is the same author. https://www.mdpi.com/2227-7102/11/5/207 . Antika Emyaem has research on corporate museums but on Twitter is found with @flipthemedia "I am a flip camera" . University of Washington Department of Communication hasa video on YouTube from 11 years ago  https://youtu.be/mcwN_PNkNzw . Latifah Almughayribi looks at influencers and social marketing. There is a PDF of a previous poster www.exeter.ac.uk/media/universityofexeter/doctoralcollege/researcherdevelopment/posterentries2019/Latifah_Almughayribi_Poster_Entry.pdf

I will mention some of this on the We Don't Know show tomorrow. The posters are on display most ofthe week. Links online continue.

Notes for the week around Phonic FM

The storyteller returns to Exeter for the Respect Festival next weekend

I hope he will contribute to the Drama Show next week, Thur 8 -10

Projects include a possible guest edit of Today Program. We have not heard about our suggestion but we will develop something anyway ahead of August. The topic is around education moving online with a focus on projected demand for student accommodation, Exeter as an example.

Meanwhile the EduExe Festival continues. Wednesday We Don't Know Show is pre-recorded as it will clash with "Flexible education for the digital age". Later on Wednesday Exeter Council has an open consultation about planning for student housing. What numbers do they assume?

There will be a report on Thursday Drama Show ( 8 -10) and some of Wild Show Thur 10 -12. The Drama Show is mostly fiction but based on some facts. Work in progress includes a #CDWalk - walk around Exeter looking at where music retail used to be and asking the question how much student accommodation will be needed if learning follows a similar pattern. #RuinsHE continues from a lecture in Durham by Peter Horrocks.

The proposal for a Today program suggested two busines slots at 6.15 and 7.15 to look at what happened after lockdown to department stores and then office space. Then soon after 8 someone from a UK uni to explain current strategy around online. During June and July more around this. Bits of chat on local radio may fit in later to a structure. Also has to fit availability schedule. Recently Radio 4 has announced more priority for sales outside the UK and podcasts. Flexibility around a particular broadcast seems a trend.

YouTube is in the background. The BBC World Service has several shows with clips as video.

The BBC has streaming sites but outside UK uses other sites as well. Education may also drift towards global streaming platforms.
